The Toronto Maple Leafs are attempting to fight off elimination one more time tonight as they try to force a game seven against the Boston Bruins. During the first period, Brad Marchand was caught shoving one of the linesmen.

The Linesman was along the boards in front of the Bruins bench, inadvertently standing right in front of the bench for the forwards. Marchand was trying to access the door, and in his frustration, he shoved the linesmen out of the way.

Remarkably, the Linesman continued to do his job throughout the ordeal, calling a zone entry onsides as the Bruins captain shoved him. Normally, touching any of the on-ice officials like this would be an automatic penalty and likely suspension for abuse of officials. However, Marchand got away with this one.

Every see a guy push a ref and not get a penalty? Now you have.

The Leafs heavily outplayed the Bruins in the first period, but the game remains tied at zero as they could not find a way to get a puck past Jeremy Swayman. Stay tuned to see how the rest of the game plays out.
