Boston Bruins Captain Brad Marchand Reveals His Retirement Plans
The 36-year-old veteran recently appeared on the What Chaos Show to talk about a few topics, including his retirement plans and the trade rumors.
Regarding the possibility of being traded, he stated that it would feel weird to play for another team, and he doesn't think about it too much because he doesn't think it'll happen:
"I think I'd feel very weird... probably a little lost... I don't really think about it 'cause it's not something that I really see happening."
He also confirmed that his goal is to play until he is 40 years old but wants to stop before reaching a point where he wouldn't be able to help the team on the ice anymore.
"I've always wanted to play till I was 40. That's kind of the goal I've had for a while.
I've had conversations with guys I've played with in the past, and I think I want to play as long as I can still be effective. I don't want to reach the point where I'm just filling a spot in the lineup.
I don't have a set end date. I want to play as long as I can still be effective. But I think it would be pretty incredible to play till 40."

Whether he ends up being traded out of Boston or not could affect his decision to retire earlier than planned, but considering he's a proud competitor, he could be tempted to keep playing if the right opportunity comes up.
