The Anheaim Ducks are putting together one of the most talented young groups in the NHL, and now, they've inked goaltender Lukas Dostal on a long-term deal that will keep him in the net until he's 30-years of age.

The Anaheim Ducks young core has excelled in recent times, and although they didn't make a run at the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season, belief is growing that this team can make some noise in 2025/26 with Joel Quenneville behind the bench to lead the balanced squad.
On the back of adding Chris Kreider, Jacob Trouba and Radko Gudas in the past 12 months to join their young core, they have now locked in a key piece of their core, with the team officially announcing a Lukas Dostal extension on Thursday.
After the announcement, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed the details of the contract, revealing that it will carry an annual value of $6.5 million over five years, locking in the 25-year old for quite some time to come.
Last season was one of the best of Dostal's young career, notching a .903 save percentage to go along with a 3.10 GAA, and while those numbers aren't mind blowing, it shows just how consistent he's been in recent years, and with the improvement and adding of veterans from this team, he'll have much more help moving forward.
Now, the Ducks have a young core up front, balanced defense along with perhaps their best young prospect in Jackson Lacombe and now their No. 1 starter locked in for the foreseeable future, so it's now very easy to see why Ducks fans are optimistic heading into the 2025/26 campaign.
