An official was stretchered off early in Avtomobilist's KHL game against Amur. No update on the official's condition has surfaced yet.
A scary moment hit the KHL early in the 2026-27 regular season.
An on-ice official had to be stretchered off during Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg's game against Amur Khabarovsk, and it happened in the first period with the score still 0-0.
Hockey News Hub's Jeremy Garrett posted the video on October 4 and said he had never seen an official leave the ice that way before.
What we know so far
A public update from the KHL or either club had not turned up at this time yet.
Until that changes, anything beyond what the video shows would just be guessing, so we are sticking to what is confirmed.
A rare sight in pro hockey
Officials going down on a stretcher is a rare sight in any league.
NHL fans saw it in November 2024, when referee Mitch Dunning collided with Colorado defenseman Josh Manson during a game in Philadelphia.
Dunning was taken to a hospital as a precaution, and the league said his neurological signs were normal.
Officials share the ice with skaters moving at full speed, and one bad angle or bounce is all it takes.
That is what makes a scene like this so hard to watch, no matter which team you cheer for.
For now, the focus is simply on the official and a safe recovery.
Once the KHL or the clubs share more, the information will be passed along.
