US Hockey Hall-of-Fame Forward Tragically Passes Away

BY NATHAN SMITH    SEPTEMBER 19, 2023  (2:07 PM)
Unfortunately, early on Tuesday morning, we have some tragic news to pass along, as US Hockey Hall of Fame forward Henry Boucha has officially passed away at the age of 72.

A solid, albeit brief career

Boucha was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings back in 1971, and would ultimately play in 247 games with the Wings, North Stars, Scouts and Rockies.

During that time, Boucha tallied 102 points and 157 penalty minutes, before ultimately being attacked on the ice in 1975, officially leading to the end of a fantastic, albeit brief career.

Rest in Peace to a legend

Off the ice, Boucha had a very solid impact on the future as well, as he is from the noted Warroad, Minnesota, the birthplace of current Washington Capitals star T.J. Oshie.

After a fantastic career and life as a player and a person away from hockey, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Boucha.

May he Rest in Peace.
