The other day it was reported by 'The Mug' that NHL Insider Kevin Weekes, stated that Patrick Kane told his General Manager Kyle Davidson, that he would not approve a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The news was a little shocking as people believed Patrick Kane and his fellow American, Auston Matthews, would have worked well together, and the Maple Leafs are definitely a Cup 'contender' but it appears this was only mere rumours.

The 'Hockey Writers' are reporting that he never said he would not become a Maple Leaf, nor did he give a list of three teams he would play for (which originally were the Rangers, Capitals and Oilers).

The Blackhawks General Manager, stated that there has been some trade talks involving Patrick Kane, but Kane mentioned that his GM has not approached him about any potential trades nor about waiving his no-trade-clause.

Kane wants to contend for another Stanley Cup before the end of his career and the 33 year old isn't getting any younger. It is very likely that Kane will not finish the season on the Blackhawks, but at the moment, we don't have any updates on where he could be playing by seasons end.
