REPORT: Hurricanes Max Pacioretty receives HORRIBLE news about next season!

For the past few years now due to the mismanagement of players in the Vegas Golden Knights system, we've seen star players get dumped from the organization for nothing, so they can free up cap space.

Last offseason we watched the Knights do it with Marc-Andre Fleury, who was the first goalie in franchise history and had legit just won a Vezina as the leagues top goaltender, and now this offseason we saw it done with Max Pacioretty to the Hurricanes for ''future considerations''.

After being traded from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki and round 2 pick in the 2019 draft (Samuel Fagemo), it's a shame to see the Knights receive nothing for Pacioretty, especially since players like Suzuki are blossoming in Montreal.

Pacioretty spent 4 seasons in Vegas where he averaged well over 20 goals per season. Last year he only played in 39 games, but still scored 19 goals and 37 points.

While it looked like the Carolina Hurricanes received this veteran sniper for nothing, which they absolutely did, it will be awhile before we get to see him in any game action for the Hurricanes as they announced via Twitter last night that Pacioretty has sustained an injury:

Max Pacioretty will undergo surgery to repair a torn Achilles. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Kevin Logel at Raleigh Orthopaedic on Wednesday. Pacioretty's expected recovery time is six months.
