We are over a week into NHL training camps and just over a week away from the start of the NHL season, and one of the names we've been hearing the most about during training camps has been the Montreal Canadiens Arber Xhekaj.

Xhekaj was an undrafted player who was signed by the Montreal Canadiens back in October of 2021. The 6'4 240lb defenceman has been making a name for himself as a tough guy as he has been dropping the gloves and making some huge hits during his time with the big club this year.

The big rid even managed to produce quite a few points this season in the Ontario Hockey League for the Kitchener Rangers and Hamilton Bulldogs.

According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, many teams are now regretting now scouting Xhekaj better and taking a chance on him:

"Montreal seems to have made a real steal here (with Xhekaj). There are a lot of teams that confirmed to me today that they would really like him. They're like, 'We would have liked to get him first. We might regret it (missing out).'"

Friedman saying a lot of teams expressing some regret for not finding Xhekaj first.
