PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY PLAYER RELEASED FROM TEAM AFTER MAKING HOMOPHOBIC AND TRANSPHOBIC COMMENTS

BY RYAN
Hockey has been making a lot of changes over the years to become a more open sport and supportive of the LGTBQ2+ community. Hockey is truly for everyone.

This ECHL/SPHL player though went on a little rant though yesterday online and is now suffering for it as both the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL and the Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL have released him from the team following these comments he made online:

Louie Rowe has been released by his ECHL & SPHL clubs following several homophobic & transphobic statements made on his Twitter profile.

Rowe, 28, hasn't scored a goal since 2017. He is a forward and has spent this season with the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL), and Peoria Rivermen (SPHL).
