In the IIHF they have much stricter rules for things such as hitting compared to other professional hockey leagues. They work hard to remove all high hits in the games to ensure player safety.

Yesterday the World Juniors re-started after his shutdown back in January when the original tournament was cancelled after multiple COVID outbreaks started amongst the teams.

During last nights game between Team USA and Team Germany, we saw the first ejection of the tournament. German forward Bennet Rossmy got up high and delivered a hit to Chicago Blackhawks prospect Dominic James straight to the head.

In the defence of Rossmy, James looks as though he was falling when the hit was delivered and Rossmy just followed through, but in the IIHF, these plays receive 0 sympathy, you need to be aware of what is happening in the play and ensure the safety of all players.
