Following their heartbreaking game 7 OT loss to the New York Rangers the Pittsburgh Penguins will have some soul-searching to do this offseason.

Having been one of the most successful NHL franchises for the past 2 decades, led around the core of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang, the Penguins have won 3 Stanley Cups, but with the core players getting older, it may be time for the Penguins braintrust to begin a rebuilding phase.

When interviewed on this team captain Sidney Crosby had this to say:
"It's not up to me, but obviously I've had a great experience playing with these guys over the years and know what they bring," said the Penguins captain when asked about the core staying together, "Love our group."

Both Letang and Malkin become free agents this offseason.
