Shane Wright started the season with the Seattle Kraken after they drafted in 4th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

Even though he was with the team, the team was highly critifized for his lack of playing time and the frequency he was being healthy scratched.

The team ended up sending him to the AHL for a few games, where he became a goal scoring machine!

After that AHL stint, he returned to Seattle for a game, where he scored on the Montreal Canadiens. He was then sent to Team Canada and became the captain of the team.

Last night we watched Team Canada win the Gold Medal at the 2023 IIHF World Juniors. During the tournament, he scored 4 goals and 3 assists to help his team take him the grand prize.

It has now been announced that since the conclusion of this tournament, Wright will not be returning to his NHL franchise, but rather going back to Kingston of the OHL.

It is believed he will be traded to another OHL franchise very shortly.
