Yesterday on his 32 thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friendman reported that head coach Barry Trotz could be on his way to a rebuilding team.
Apparently the Detroit Red Wings are showing heavy interest in Barry Trotz, but we don't know if an official offer has been made.
The Yzerplan is well underway and at the time of writing, it was just announced that Red Wings rookie defenceman Moritz Seider
has just won the Calder trophy as the leagues best rookie.
The Wings have made vast improvements these past few years under Yzerman at the helm, but they still need a coach that can bring to the playoffs.
With all the exciting young talent that the Wings offer like Seider, Raymond, Larkin, Vrana, Zadina, Hronek and many more, maybe Trotz will see this as a project that he can grow and mold into a team that will play his style at a young age.
What we do know is, the Wings are going to be a force to be reconned with these next few years no matter who is behind the bench, but if Trotz is on it, they will be that much better!
