It hasn't been too long since the Tampa Bay Lightning lost in game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals, and due to some cap issues, they knew some changes were going to be coming, but we didn't know to what magnitude.

A few days ago the Lightning apparently asked Ryan McDonagh who he would be willing to accept a trade to. The 33 year old still has 4 years remaining on a contract with a cap hit of $6,750,000.

5 years ago McDonagh was traded from the New York Rangers to the Lightning with J.T. Miller to Tampa Bay Lightning for Vladislav Namestnikov, Brett Howden, Libor Hajek, round 1 pick in the 2018 draft (Nils Lundkvist) and conditional round 2 pick in the 2019 draft (Karl Henriksson).

Today, he was traded to the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Philippe Myers and forward Grant Mismash.
